Based in Central Florida, Farewell Firearms was established in 2016 and specializes in providing professional, highly focused instruction to all levels of shooters. The wide range of performance classes and personalized training offered ensures value from the first time shooter to experienced competitive or tactical shooters. Our mission is to help each student achieve their individual goals through process based, performance focused, intentional training.

MEET JOE

Joe Farewell began his law enforcement career in 2007 as a volunteer for the Lake Wales Police Department (Florida). In 2013 he joined the Winter Haven Police Department and quickly progressed into specialty units. During his time at the department he was assigned to patrol, Field Training,Tactical Patrol Unit, General Crimes Investigations, Violent Crimes Investigations, Special Investigations Unit, and lead detective for the Gang Suppression Unit. He also spent 3 years assigned to the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.

Joe tried out for the department’s Emergency Response Team as soon as he was eligible, was accepted in 2014, and graduated from the Polk County Sheriff SWAT School. In addition to his role on the entry team, he later took over the sniper team leader position. Farewell was also a general and firearms instructor for the department and the Emergency ResponseTeam and was certified as a high liability firearms instructor through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

For over 12 years Joe has been an avid competitor in USPSA, 3-Gun, and IPSC. In 2019 he was selected to represent the USA at the IPSC Rifle World Shoot in the Semi-Auto Open Division where he took home a hardfought silver medal with Team USA. He has also won numerous state, regional, and national titles.

In 2016 Joe started Farewell Firearms Training and offers instruction for all shooters, from novice to advanced. He is regularly contracted for training by the US Army Special Operations and US Navy SEALS as well as numerous specialty units within the law enforcement community. With his background in law enforcement and experience at the top tier of competition, Farewell has a well-rounded and practical approach to firearms training
